Financial Resources —Did you know that there are many financial resources that can help people living with breast cancer? Find out more

In the Susan G. Komen SCWI 19 year history, more than $6.1 million has been granted to LOCAL non-profit organizations providing services to the members of our community most in need. In 2016 alone, our local Affiliate granted $360,065 for mammograms, breast cancer treatment, access to treatment, education, and survivorship programs.

Up to 75% of the net proceeds generated by the Affiliate stays in our service area of Dane, Rock, Sauk, Dodge, Iowa, Green, Columbia and Jefferson counties. The remaining 25% is contributed to the National Breast Cancer Research Grants and Awards Program to fund breast cancer research, including metastatic and aggresive disease. Our local Affiliate has contributed $2.3 million to the National Breast Cancer Research Grants and Awards Program. This program has awarded over $5 million to the UW Hospital.

Local Affiliate funds do not cover expenses at the national Komen office. They are responsible for their own expenses through other resources.
